Probe body formed over coal-laden cargo capsize

Bagerhat Correspondent: A probe body has been formed over the incident of capsizing a cargo carrying 775 tonnes of coal at Harbaria of Mongla port in the Pashur River near the Sundarbans.
The committee will investigate into how much damages happened to the Sundarbans in the incident.
Hassan Mahmud, Division Forest Officer (DFO) of East Sundarbans Range of Bagerhat, confirmed the news.
He said, “The committee member Chandpai Range assistant conservator of forest (ACF) Shahin Kabir started investigation since Sunday noon.”
The coal-laden cargo MV Bilas sank when it stuck in a hidden char at no-5 anchor near Harbaria area around 60 nautical miles away from the Mongla Port around 3:00am Sunday.
