Raid in two suspected militant dens in Savar

Staff Correspondent: Police are conducting raids in two suspected militant dens at Namagenda area in Savar, the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.

The operation began around 7:30pm on Friday.

Though law enforcers ended operation at one of the hideout in the evening, they were conducting drive at another till the report was filed around 9:45pm.

However, police could not find anybody in the den where they already raided.

Police said they had information that militants were staying in the ground floor of the five-storey building. But they managed to flee the hideout sensing the operation.

Local trader Anwar Mollah is the owner of the house, sources said.

The militants are staying in the area after they fled the den. So, they were also conducting another house, police claimed.
Ashraful Azim, additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Dhaka district, confirmed the news.
