'Robber' killed in Narayanganj gunfight

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: A suspected robber has been killed in a gunfight between two groups of robbers in Mordasadi area of Mahmudpur union under Araihazar upazila of the district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Jakir Hossain, 35, son of Nuru Mia, hailed from Goaltek area of Dakkhin Khan in Dhaka.

Araihazar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) M A Haque said two groups of robbers locked into a gunfight in the area around 3:30am. On information, patrol police and thana police rushed to the spot and found bullet injured Jakir.

Later, he was sent to Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.

A local made pistol, one-round of bullet and a bullet shell were recovered from the spot.
