Robber lynched to death in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: A robber was lynched to death at Dhorbila village of the district's sadar upazila early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Mukul Hossain, 30, son of Golam Hossain of Shibrampur under Mujibnagar upazila in Meherpur.

Abdur Razzak, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said a gang of some seven to eight robbers was taking preparation for committing robbery at the house of Abul Kashem of Dhorbila village. Sensing the matter, people of the house started screaming. Hearing this, neighbouring people rushed the spot and surrounded them.  Though his other cohorts managed to flee the scene, mobs gave Mukul a good thrashing.

Being informed, police rescued Mukul from the spot and took him to Pabna Sadar Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead, the OC added.
