'Rohingya' woman with two children held in Tangail

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Police held a suspected Rohingya woman along with her children from Rabna area on Dhaka-Bangabandhu bridge highway of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The detainees were known as Ayesha Akter, 40, Arafat, 8, and Akash, 4.

Sayedur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar Model Police Station, briefed the matter on Wednesday noon.

He said locals noticed that a woman along with two children was roaming at Rabna area on Tuesday afternoon. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and took them to the station. They cannot tell anything clearly. So, they were being sent to Cox's Bazaar Kutupalong camp to identify whether they are real Rohingyas.
