Rohingyas to be registered within 3 months

Cox's Bazaar Correspondent: The registration activities of Rohingya refugees, who fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar, will be completed within three months gradually.

Maj Gen Md Masud Rezwan, Director General (DG) of Immigration and Passport Department, told this to reporters while visiting Rohingya registration activities at Kutupalong of Ukhia and Noyaparha of Teknaf on Thursday afternoon.

He said already 30 computers (Laptops) were arranged at Kutupalong and Noyaparha centers for the registration process.

Another registration center will be set up at Balukhali refugee camp of Ukhia within a week. Manpower has also been increased to move up the activities, he added.

DIP Director General said, "Though registration programme is being disrupted due to language complexities of the Rohingyas. If all go well, registration will be completed within next three months."
