Schoolgirl hacked to death in Chattogram

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A schoolgirl was hacked to death at Haidgaon Mohajonpara area in Patiya upazila of Chattogram.

The victim was identified as Rina Akter, 14, a student of class eight and daughter of Manzurul Alam in the area.

Informed by local people, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body in a bloody state on Saturday noon. Her body was found near an area close to a rail line. Police recovered her school bag from the spot, said Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Railway police.

Reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, the OC said.
