Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: A ship carrying the second consignment of 27,000 tonnes of rice imported from Vietnam will reach Chittagong port today.
The ship named MV PEX, carrying the rice, will reach the port on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier on July 13, the first consignment of rice imported from Vietnam reached Chittagong port.
MV Vissai VCT 05, carrying 20,000 tonnes of white rice, reached the port around 10.15am.
The government on June 14 decided to import 250,000 tonnes of rice at Tk 908.85 crore from Vietnam under a government-to-government agreement.
