Section 144 slapped at 5 spots of Thakurgaon

Thakurgaon Correspndent: The Section 144 has been slapped at five different places in Thakurgaon for indefinite period as local Awami League and BNP have called rallies at same places.

The places are Ruhia, Bhelarhat, Dholarhat, Rajagaon and Ramnath areas of Sadar Upazila.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Aslam Molla imposed the section 144, apprehending that the law and order situation may go out of control in the areas.

After the announcement, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who was scheduled to join the rallies, returned from the Sahjalal International Airport in the capital, canceling the visit.

Meanwhile, four rallies of BNP were obstructed due to the section 144.
