Setting fire to bus: 19 BNP leaders, activists arrested

Feni Correspondent: Police arrested 13 people more for their alleged involvement in a case filed over cocktail explosion and setting fire to two buses while BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's convoy was crossing Mohipal area in Feni.
With this, the number of the arrestees rose to 19.
Police said they were arrested from different places of the area early Thursday. Most of the arrestees are from the activists and leaders of BNP and its associate bodies.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni Sadar Police Station Md Rashed Khan Chowdhury and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fulgazi Police Station SM Morshed confirmed this to risingbd.com.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Feni Sadar Police Station Nur Uddin filed the case over the incident on Wednesday night.
On Tuesday afternoon, the convoy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia came under attack at Mohipal in Feni while she was returning to Dhaka after wrapping up her four-day visit to Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar.
According to eyewitnesses, some unidentified miscreants tried to attack the convoy of Khaleda Zia by throwing bricks while the convoy arrived at Mohipal in Feni around 4:30pm.
During this time, a chase and counter chase took place between the attackers and activists and leaders of BNP staying there. The miscreants vandalized some vehicles and set fire to two public buses which were parked before Mohipal Filling Station near Feni Circuit House.
