Shitalakkhya trawler capsize: 4 bodies recovered

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Four bodies were recovered from the river Shitalakkhya in Narayanganj on Tuesday morning who went missing after a trawler capsized on Sunday night.

Members of Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the bodies around 10.00am from Central Kheyaghat area.

Three of the deceased were identified as Roni, Deen Islam and Emon.

According to sources, the trawler carrying 60-70 passengers was going to Madanganj at night. When the trawler took a move, it hit the launch anchored at the ghat. Some passengers, who were on the roof of the trawler, fell into the river and went missing.
Being informed, members of police and Fire Service and Civil Defence started the rescue operation on Monday morning.
