Six killed in Mymensingh as bus runs over auto-rickshaw

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: At least six people were killed as a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Kakni area on Sherpur-Mymensingh road of the district’s Tarakanda upazila on Friday afternoon.

All the deceased were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

Police said a Dhaka-bound ‘Imam Paribahan’ bus from Haluaghat ran over the opposite head Phulpur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kakni area, leaving five including its driver dead on the spot and one injured. The injured rushed to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Mazharul Huq, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, said, “Being informed, police were sent to the spot. The identities of the casualties could not be known immediately.”
