South regional Neo-JMB chief held

Bogra Correspondent: Detectives have South-regional Neo-JMB chief Abu Sayed alias Abdul Karim alias Toyob alias Talha alias Talha Sheikh alias Syamal Sheikh alias Hossain alias Sazid alias Danger alias Shakil alias Mokles alias Shafiq, 30.

Detective Branch (DB) of Bogra District and Police Headquarter's intelligence members detained him conducting a drive at Omorpur hat of the district's Nandigram upazila on Friday late-night.

Law enforcers also seized a 9mm pistol, magazines, bullets, Burmese knife and motorcycle from his possession.

Asaduzzaman, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Bogra, revealed the news in a press briefing on Saturday noon.

According to press briefing, Sayed joined JMB in 2002. In 2004, he took part in outlawed party Sorbohara cleansing with Bangla Bhai and Shaikh Abdur Rahman after taking charges of chief military wing. He was sentenced to death penalty in series bomb blasting case across the country in 2005. Then, he left the country and fled to India where he married a girl in Murshidabad. There he also took charges of Nadia district JMB.

Kolkata NIA announced a bounty of Rs 10 lakh for Khagragarh bomb blast in 2014. Then, he returned Bangladesh, the SP said.
