Student commits suicide after failing in SSC exam

Thakurgaon Correspondent: A student has reportedly committed suicide after failing in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination in Thakurgaon.

The deceased was identified as Sahab Uddin, 16, son of Ekramul Haque, hailed from Lalapur Jangalbari village of Baliadanga upazila.

Sources said that the school boy appeared in this year’s SSC examination from Modhurpur Noyadighi M Rafik Alim Madrasa. The results of this SSC and its equivalent examinations were published across Bangladesh on Monday. Sahab Uddin failed in English. After the result, he swallowed pills.

Later, he was taken to upazila health complex and shifted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where he died under treatment.

Baliadangi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mosabberul Haque confirmed the matter.
