Student dies after being allegedly pushed off from bus

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: A student of Sylhet Agricultural University has died under the wheels of a moving bus after being allegedly pushed off from the vehicle in Moulvibazar.

The deceased was identified as Washim Hasnath, 23, a fourth year student of the University's Biotechnic and Genetic Engineering Department. 

Classmates of the victim complained that following an argument between the students and the driver’s helper over the fare, the victim was pushed out of the moving bus’s door by the helper, leaving him dead on the spot.

Protesting the incident, the students of the university vandalized a bus counter in Sylhet.

The bus was seized from Begumpur area on Sylhet-Dhaka highway, said Sherpur highway police outpost in-charge SI Kamrul Islam.
