‘Talks on other topics after Khaleda’s release’

Staff Correspondent: Putting emphasis on the release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “First of all, she has to be released from jail, then the matter of discussion on other topics can come. There will be no compromise with the demand of her release.”

The BNP leader came up with these firm statements at a public rally organized to press home the demand of unconditional release of the BNP chief at Barishal Hemayet Uddin Central Eidgah Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Barishal Metropolitan unit BNP organized the rally.

Fakhrul clearly said that his party will not sit for any discussion with the government or the like-minded quarters before the unconditional release of the party chief Khaleda Zia.

“Now the topic of discussion is only one and that is—the release of leader Khaleda Zia. No compromise in question of her release,” he said.

He further said the Khaleda Zia is the ‘mother of democracy’ who struggled throughout her life for the emancipation of the countrymen.

He urged all to be united for the protection of rights of the people and the restoration of democracy in the country.
