Three female militants held in Kushtia

Kushtia Correspondent: Three female militants including Neo JMB Aamir Aiyub Bachchu's wife were held in a joint operation conducted by Counter Terrorism unit and Kushtia district police at a house of Bamonparha of the district's Bheramara upazila on Friday night.

Law enforcers also seized two suicidal vests, a pistol, a magazine and some gunpowder from the hideout.

SM Mehedi Hassan, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Kushtia, said Counter Terrorism unit on Friday midnight raided a house near Taltola mosque of Veramara based on secret information as to militants were staying in the house. A team comprising of Bheramara and Kushtia sadar police stations and the district Detective Branch (DB) took positions around the spot. A female attacked on police in suicidal vest around 3:00am on Saturday, but police had caught her before it blasted. Later, two more females-- Tithi and Sumaiya-- were also held along a newborn.

Police claimed that the owner of the house is one Nasima Khatun. Militants rented it two months ago. Neo-JMB Aamir Aiyub Bachchu alias Sajib's wife Tithi and wife of the second in command of the outfit were among the detainees.
