Three fishermen killed in lighting strike

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Three fishermen were killed and nine others were injured in the incident of lighting strike at Bilsuti water body of the district's Bagmara upazila on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Abul Hossain, 50, son of Bashir Uddin,  Khurshid Alam, 38, son of Abdul Khaleque and Jalal Uddin, 40, son of Sekandar Ali. They all are residents of Borobihanali village of the upazila.

Yeasin Ali Sardar, Awami League general secretary of Borobihanali Union Parisad, confirmed their identification.

The injured were given first aid locally, he added.

Nasim Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagmara Police Station, said an unnatural death case will be filed in this regard.
