Three found dead among 5 missing schoolboys

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Three bodies have been recovered among five schoolboys who went missing after going to take bath in the Matamuhuri river at Chakaraia upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

The five boys went missing in the river on Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 4:00pm on Saturday.

They were known as Sayeed, Aminul Hossain, Farhan, Turjo Bhattacharya and Meharab Hossain. They all are students of Grammar School adjacent to the river. Of them, Mehrab is of class-8 while others are of class-10.

Of the missing, bodies of Mehrab, Turjo and Farhan were recovered around 7:30pm.

Jahedul Islam, teacher of the school, said after exaination, the boys were playing football in the field near the river. After playing, six friends went to take bath in the river and went missing. Of them, one was rescued immediately.

Nuruddin Md Shibli Noman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Chakaria, confirmed the news.

He said a team of Fire Service was searching the missing.
