Three of a family killed in Tangail road crash

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Three members of a family were killed and five others were injured as a tiles-laden truck overturned at Shuvalla area of the district’s Mirzapur early Tuesday.

The deceased were known as Niranjan Mali, 32, hailed from Shikharanjan village of Joypurhat sadar upazila, his wife Sagori Mali, 25, and their daughter Swarna, 6.

A K M, Mizanul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirzapur Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “A Joypurhat-bound tiles-laden truck from Gazipur overturned Shuvalla area as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the three who were on the truck as passengers killed on the spot and five others injured.”

“The injured were given first aid at Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital,” he added.
