Trader killed during robbery in Monirampur

Jessore Correspondent:  A trader, Parimal Pal (45), has been killed during a mugging in Monirampur upazila of the district.

Officer-in-charge of Monirampur Police Station Mokarram Hossain said like every day the owners of ‘Messrs Pal Brothers’  Parimal Pal and his two brothers - Ratan Pal and Kartik Pal, were returning to the area on a microbus after closing their shop around 10:00 pm on Saturday.

When they reached near their residence at Dolkhola intersection, two miscreants swooped on them with sharp weapons.

During the hassle, one of the miscreants hacked Parimal, leaving him severely injured and fled with the bag carrying money.

The miscreants also hurled bomb, triggering panic in the area.

Victim Parimal Pal was rushed to the local hospital before being transferred to the state-run hospital in Jessore where he succumbed to his injuries at early hours of Sunday.
