Transport strike underway in Thakurgaon

Thakurgaon Correspondent: An indefinite transport strike called by District Motor Sramik Union is underway in the district from Monday morning.

District Motor Sramik Union called the strike protesting the attack on a mini-bus driver named Dulal.
The strike has been started from 6.00 am on the day.

Our Correspondent from their reported that the transport strike has left thousands of people in distress and Thakurgaon district is almost disconnected from the country with no passenger being able to travel by road from the very morning.

Sources said, on August 7, some passengers of Dulal’s car have beaten him and vandalize his car at the same time.

After the attack, Dulal has filed a case in connection with attack against 11 persons to the Pirganj police station.

But the court of Thakurgaon has granted the bail of 11 persons.

Following the bail the District Motor Sramik Union called the sine die transport strike.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Mukesh Chandra Biswas said, “It is unwanted that the union has called an indifinite strike against the court order while a negotiation is going to resolve the crisis.”
