Tushar begs apology to wife before he dies by fire

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: “Our building caught fire. The fire is razing terribly. I do not know whether I can come out from here.  Ask everyone to pray for me and forgive me if you can,” Nahidul Islam Tushar, one of the Banani fire victims who died told this making phone call to his wife Mahmuda Akter Nodi after he got trapped in FR Tower on Thursday noon.

Tushar, son of Isak Ali of Bhanuaboho of Gorai union parishad under Mirzapur upazila in Tangail, was engaged as computer engineer in Heritage Travel Agency on 9th floor of FR Tower.

He took the job four years ago after he achieved post graduate degree in the discipline.

According to family members, Tushar tied the know with Nodi four years ago. Still, they do not have any child.

After he got trapped in FR Tower after the fire broke out in the building, he talked his father Isak Ali, mother Nurun Nahar, elder brother Tuhin and younger brother Shishir over mobile phone. Tushar begged help to them for saving him. But nobody could respond to his pathetic lament. Around 2:00pm, his mobile phone found switched off.

The shadow of mourning gripped the entire when Thushar body reached his village home on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday night, Thushar’s paternal uncle Abul Hossain received the body after it was identified at Kurmitola General Hospital. Later, the body was taken to the village.

Hearing the news of reaching body to village, hundreds of people gathered there. The whole area was gripped by mourning.

Around 10:00am on Friday, he was buried at ancestral cemetory after namaz-e-janaza. Nearly thousands of people attended the janaza.

Tushar spent his early life in Magura for sake of his father’s job. His father used to work as health engineer in Magura. After retirement, he returned to his village home of Bhanuaboho under Mirzapur upazila.

Tushar was well known as good cricketer in Magura. left- handed pacer Tushar was a regular cricketer of Magura district cricket team.
