Two RU students still missing

RU Correspondent: The two students of Rajshahi University (RU) could not be traced out yet, eight days after they were picked up by some people identifying themselves as Detective officials.

The duo was picked up on Friday last, according to their classmates.

Meanwhile CID briefed on Thursday that two RU students were held for their involvement in exam fraudulence of Dhaka University (DU), but the law enforcement agency did not disclose their detail identities.

The detainees might be the missing students, believed their classmates.

The missing RU students are identified as Boni Amin Israel, 4th year student of Social Science department, and Maruf Hassan of Social Work department.

Boni is RU BCL activist and known as follower of former general secretary Khalid Hassan Biplob.

On Friday evening, some people in plain clothes picked Boni from Laxmipur area of Rajshahi while Maruf was taken up from Saheb Bazar.

Masud Rana, Vice-President of RU BCL unit and  Boni's classmate, said they could not find him (Boni) any wthere after frantic searching since Friday.

CID Inspector of Rajshahi Asmaul Haque also confessed to detaining of two RU students.

He said, "We have not been yet informed over the two RU detainees in Dhaka. We also did not know the details over the missing."

Mehedi Hassan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motihar Police Station, also echoed same.
