Two children drown as boat carrying wedding party capsizes

Habiganj Correspondent: Two children drowned and 20 people injured as a boat carrying wedding party capsized in Sonai river of the district's Madhabpur upazila on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Shrabonti, 6, daughter of Abdul High of Binnighat village under Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria, and Mukta, 13, daughter of Salek Mia of the same village.

The boat capsized in mid-way while it was heading from Muradpur of Madhabpur upazila from Brahmanbaria.

Being informed, police and Fire Service men with assistance of locals recovered the bodies.

Moktadir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhabpur Police Station, confirmed the news.
