Two dancers killed in Rupganj road crash

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Two dancers were killed and injured another one when a truck rammed their motorcycle on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Aukhabo area of Rupganj upazila of the district early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Hridoy, 22, son of Shafiq Master, hailed from Matlab thana in Chandpur district and Sharmin, 17, daughter of Jafar Ali, hailed from Bakerganj of Barishal.

Kanchpur highway police outpost officer-in-charge Kaium Ali Sardar said the deceased were dancers.

Injured Akhi Aktar said they were returning from Narsingdi after performing in a dance programme on Friday night. On the way back to Dhaka, a sand-laden truck rammed the motorbike, leaving the two dead on the spot.
