Two drug traders killed in Kushtia

Kushtia Correspondent: Two suspected drug traders were killed in a gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Mirpur of Kushtia early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Futu alias Monna, 35, son of late Ahmed Ali and Rasel Ahmed, 30, son of Rabiul Islam.

RAB-12, CPS-1, Kushtia camp commander Mohaiminul said acting on a tip off that a drug traders are selling drugs in Joyaddar brickfield area adjacent to Ananda Bazar of Mirpur upazila, a team of RAB conducted drive.

Sensing presence of RAB personnel, drug traders opened fire aiming the law enforcers. In reply, RAB also opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving the two bullets injured.

Later, the injured were sent to Kushtia general hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

A foreign made pistol, a local made gun, 12 rounds of bullets and huge amount of Yaba pills and Phensidyl were recovered from the spot.
