Two killed as pick up crushed under train at Kaliakoir

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: At least two people were killed and three others were injured as pick up crushed under train at Boktarpur area of the district's Kaliakoir upazila around 2:45pm on Saturday.

The casualties could not be identified immediately. The injured were taken to Kaliakoir Upazila Health Complex.

Dadan Mia, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Joydevpur Junction Outpost in Gazipur, said they heard the incident. Police were on way to the spot.

Locals said a pick up crushed under Dhaka-bound Sundarban Express while it was passing through an unprotected rail crossing at Boktarpur area. The train stretched the pick up to nearly half kilometer from the spot, leaving two dead on the spot.
