Two killed in Tongi road mishap

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: At least two people were killed as an unknown vehicle ran over them at Hossain Market area at Tongi in Gazipur on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nurul Haque, 40, resident of Kalsaparha under Durgarpur upazila of Netrokona, and Alal Uddin, 47, of Guzirpur area of the same upazila.

Nazir Ahmed, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tongi Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said an unknown vehicle ran over them near Hossain Market of Tongi on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 5:45am on Tuesday, leaving them killed on the spot. Later, the bodies were sent to Shahid Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
