Two ‘militant siblings’ held in Ctg

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 have detained two brothers from Faujdarhat railway station area in Sitakunda upazila of the port city on Thursday morning, suspecting them as the members of a militant outfit.

The detainees are—Shakil Hossain, 19 and his younger brother Sarowar Hossain Prokash Rudro, 18. They are the sons of Abu Kalam Paikar of Bogra district.

Confirming the incident to risingbd.com, Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director of the media wing at RAB-7, said the two brothers were detained on suspicion of militant members as they were trying to avoid the search being carried out by RAB members at Uttor Solimpur area near Faujdarhat railway station in the upazila.

Some provocative leaflets and jihadi books were seized from their possession during the search, Mimtanur Rahman said.

The detainees were handed over to Sitakunda police station, the RAB official said.
