UP chairman found dead in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: Police has recovered the hanging body of Ullapara upazila’s Mohanpur Union Parishad chairman Mirza Khalid Intejar Shakti.

His body was recovered on Sunday morning from his residence in Sirajganj municipality’s Masumpur Mohalla area.

The deceased Mirza Khalid was the son of the former parliament member Abdul Latif Mirza and was elected UP chairman twice.


The relatives of the deceased and locals said Shakti Mirza went to sleep at his house on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, without getting any response, the door was broken and found him hanging with an electric fan. When he was rushed to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital, duty doctors declared him dead.

Local lawmaker Professor Dr. Habibe Millat Munna and district Awami League leaders went to see the dead body at the Sadar Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station (investigation) Abdur Rafiq said the body had been kept at the Sadar Hospital morgue.
