Unknown disease: 7 more children affected in Sitakunda

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Seven more children were affected with unknown disease at Tripura parha of the district's Sonaichhari hilly area in Sitakunda upazila on Friday.

Earlier, nine children died of same reason on Wednesday while more than 50 were admitted to hospital.

The newly affected children were admitted to BITID hospital at Faujdarhat in Sitakunda.

They were known as Toufik Kumar Tripura, 4, Modhu Kumar, 8, Gita Babu, 14, Shimul, 2, Hridoy, 10, Rimon, 4, and Ratna, 8.

Chittagong Civil Surgeon Azizur Rahman Siddiqui confirmed the news.

With this, the number of unknown disease affected children climbed to 63, according to the district civil surgeon office.
