Voting suspended at Katiadi

Kishoreganj Correspondent: The authority has suspended voting in all polling centres of Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj following allegations of irregularities during the third phase of upazila elections.

Additional police super Md Shafiqul Islam and Katiadi police station Officer-in-charge (OC) were withdrawn on charge of their involvement with irregularities in the polls.

District Election Officer Mohammad Tajul Islam said voting at 89 polling stations in the upazila was suspended a few hours after the election began, over allegations of vote stuffing at night.

The date of re-election will be announced later, he added.
