Yaba peddlers to surrender to Home Minister

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Listed and identified Yaba peddlers will officially surrender to Home Minister at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on February 16.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is set to make a three-day visit to Cox’s Bazar to attend the surrender programme.

A B M Masud Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Cox’s Bazar, confirmed the news on Wednesday.

He said, “Yaba traders, who are listed and identified by Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), will surrender on February 16. On February 15, Home Minister will reach Cox’s Bazar by a flight to attend the programme as a chief guest.”

According to the district police and concerned sources, more than one hundred and fifty Yaba peddlers, who are listed and identified by DNC, have already gathered at a special place with their own in security custody. A lot of Yaba traders are contacting police and concerned quarters to surrender. Most of the top 20 Yaba peddlers among 73 have already come under the custody.
