Yaba worth Tk a crore seized from Shyamoli bus, 3 arrested

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized 19,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth Tk 1 crore conducting drive in a Shyamoli Paribahan bus at station road area near Motel beach under the city’s Kotwali Police Station on Friday morning.

Law enforcers also arrested three people during the drive. They were known as Sabuj, 32, Polash Mondal, 28 and Nasir Hawlader, 30.

Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB-7 in Chattogram, confirmed the news.

He said, “On tipped off, a team of RAB-7 stopped the Shyamoli Paribahan bus (Dhaka Metro- Ba 14-9864) at station road area. Law enforcers found 19, 000 pieces Yaba under seat of the bus driver.”

The bus was seized along with three Yaba traders were arrested, he added.

A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
