Youth killed in gas cylinder blast

Sirajganj Correspondent: A youth was killed and another burnt as a gas cylinder in the kitchen exploded suddenly with a big bang in Kalihati upazila of Tangail early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Amirul Islam Talukdar, 30, son of late Solaiman Talukdar of Sirajganj district.

Lokman Hossain, a relative of the deceased, said Amirul Islam went to his sister's house in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on Monday. The gas cylinder in the kitchen exploded suddenly with a big bang on Tuesday morning, leaving the duo critically burnt.

Later, the injured were immediately taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital.

Amirul was shifted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated.

Amirul succumbed to his burn injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital Thursday dawn.
