Youth shot dead in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: A youth was shot to death by unknown extremists at Aminpur area of the district's Bera upazila on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Miraz Hossain, 18, son of Hasmot Mondal of Dhalarchar Ramnarayanpur village under Aminpur Police Station.

SM Tajul Huda, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aminpur Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said miscreants shot Miraz while he was returning home around 7:00pm on Monday, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, Police the recovered the body around 10:00pm. Police are looking for why the murder was occurred, he added.

He, however, guessed as per primary information he got, "Miraz was involved in any extremist outfit". The rival miscreants might have killed him over establishing supremacy.

It may be mentioned that Dhalarchar is extremist inhabited area. Banned extremists shot dead three policemen there on July 20, 2010.
