Youth to die for killing schoolboy

Natore Correspondent: A youth, Ashraful Islam (28), has been awarded with death penalty for killing schoolboy Ananto Chakroborti Antu (13).

Natore District and Sessions Judge Rezaul Karim passed the order on Thursday.

The court also acquitted Shajahan Ali and Abdullah Al Mamun from the case.

According to the case details, Antu was kidnapped on May 31 in 2012, when he was returning home after a coaching centre from Halsa Bazar under Sadar upazila. The kidnappers demanded ransom five lakh taka to his father. After the matter was reported to the police, the police recovered the body of Anu from Halsa area.

Police arrested Ashraful Islam, Shajahan Ali and Abdullah Al Mamun in this connection.
