HC summons cyber tribunal judge

Staff Correspondent: The High Court today summoned Dhaka Cyber tribunal Judge KM Shamsul Alam and UK Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce president Moklesur Rahman Chowdhury Mahtab.

The court ordered them to appear before it on July 27 and explain why charge of court of contempt will not be brought against them.

An HC bench comprising of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday.

Deputy Attorney General Tapash Kumar Biswas stood for the state in the case.

On June 22, Advocate Subir Nandi Das filed the writ at the High Court.  

UK Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce president Moklesur Rahman at a talk show programme in a private TV channel said that the Bangladesh judges are rogue. The development of the country face blockade due to judges.

Later, Dhaka Judge Court lawyer Golam Rabbani collected the speeches from youtube and facebook and filed a case against Mahtab Chowdhury with Katwali Thana on May 9.

On May 24, Mahtab Chowdhry appealed for bail plea in cyber tribunal. But, the tribunal rejected the appeal cancelling all appeal of him as Mahtab Chowdhury and his lawyer were absent during hearing.
