One injured in city ‘gunfight’

Staff Correspondent: A top terrorist was injured in a ‘gunfight’ with police at an under-construction building in the capital’s Nandipara area early Friday. Four more others have been detained in this connection.

The injured is Khurshid Alam.

Inspector Gias Uddin of Detective Branch (DB north) of police said, “Acting on a tiff-off, a team of DB police went to the area around 4:00am where top terrorist Khurshid Alam and his accomplices were taking position. Sensing the presence of law enforcers the terrorists fired upon them. The law enforcers fired back that triggered a gunfight, leaving Khurshid Alam with bullet-hit injuries”.

Four more others have been detained in this connection, the police official said.
