Client shot at bank, Tk 10 lakh snatched

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Miscreants snatched Tk 10 lakh and eight thousand after shooting a client of Pubali Bank Ltd in Jhenaidah town on Sunday morning.

The incident took place at around 10.30am at the stair of Pubali Bank’s Jhenaidah branch at Payra Chattor in the town.

The victim is Faruk Hossain (50), manager of Rezaul Islam Filling Station and son of Shahidul Islam in Hamdoha area of the town.

Officer In-Charge of Jhenaidah Sadar Thana Hasan Hafizur Rahman said miscreants numbering 3-4 shot Faruk in his head and snatched Tk 10 lakh and eight thousand and a cheque for Tk four lakh when at the stairs of the bank he was going to the branch for depositing the money.

He was rescued by the locals and sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital in critical condition.
