Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Police will seek 10-day remand to court for two accused including arms supplier Ehteshamul Haque Bhola arrested in SP Babul Akter`s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu murder.
Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Devdas Bhattacharya confirmed the news on Tuesday.
Earlier the assailant Ehteshamul Haque Bhola confessed to supplying fire arms which was used in the fatal attack on Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.
Devdas Bhattacharya in a press conference on Tuesday noon said police detained the arms supplier from Razakhali area under Baklia police station in the port city on Tuesday morning. Later, following his information, his cohort Monir was arrested along with two fire arms.
Mitu, 32, was stabbed and shot dead by three men in GEC intersection area in the port city when she took her son to his school bus on June 5, the same day her husband was supposed to report at the Police Headquarters as the newly promoted SP.
