Green Delta Insurance launches `Nibedita`

DHAKA, May 26: Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd, one of the top insurers in the country, launched the first ever insurance product for women with a wide range of coverage of deaths and severe injuries caused by accidents.

Nibedita, a comprehensive insurance scheme for women, kicked off at a ceremony in the city recently on a pilot basis.

Industries Minister Dilip Barua inaugurated the product while founding Managing Director and Chief Adviser of Green Delta Insurance Company Nasir A Choudhury and Acting Managing Director and CEO Farzana Chowdhury were present, among others.

Nibedita has been designed for urban and rural women specially for female entrepreneurs considering affordability, risk and crisis and availability of insurance coverage.

“This product is actually a demand of time. We assessed the need of the female entrepreneurs and launched this product to safeguard their future as they have multiple challenges to overcome while doing business,” Said the CEO of Green Delta Insurance.

This insurance scheme will have coverage from Tk. 100,000 to Tk. 10,00,000 with premium of Tk. 575.

The general coverage will include accidental death, injury due to accident, flood earthquake, landslide, cyclone, riot and strike and death during child birth. It will also have extended coverage for carrying legal expenses incurred for divorce proceedings, trauma allowance for rape, robbery, acid victims etc.

Farzana Chowdhury who is also the Director of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the product will be provided to around 3000 members of the women chamber, a press release said.
