1 metric ton of Piranha seized in Ctg

A mobile court today seized one metric ton of banned Piranha fish metropolitan fishery ghat in Chattogram.

The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Md Umar Faruk launched a drive in the area and seized the fish.

Meanwhile, a trader named Abdul Mamin was finned Tk50,000 for his involvement with trading the banned fish.

The magistrate said, the banned fish is sold off to customers as species of the continental fish ‘Rupchanda’. Piranha is a threat to local species of fish.
