10 get life term in farmer murder case

Kishoreganj Correspondent: A Kishoreganj court has sentenced 10 people to life imprisonment for the murder of a farmer.

Judge of No. 1 Additional District and Sessions Judge Court Muhammad Abdur Rahim announced the verdict against them on Monday.

The convicts are Badal, Noyon, Manik, Sabuj, Lokman, Alamgir, Mizan, Giasuddin, Rahmat Ali and Mamun Mia. All are the residents of Paloikanda village under Karimganj upazila.  

They have also been fined Tk 10,000 each. 12 persons have also been acquitted of the case.

A famer named Manik Mia was killed on August 6 in 2011 at Paloikanda village under Karimganj upazila, according to the case dossier.

The deceased’s brother, Khairul Mia, filed the murder case accusing 27 people.
