11 more arrested in Rony murder case

Police have arrested 11 people in connection with a case filed for killing SSC examinee Rony Hawlader in Gopalganj Sadar upazila.

They were arrested from different places of Bangram area of the upazila at early hours on Thursday (March 12).

Acting on a tiff-off that the accused were taking position in Bangram area, police conducted a drive there and arrested them from different parts of Bangram area, said Monirul Islam, officer in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station.

Fifteen out of 24 accused in the murder case have, so far, been arrested till today, the OC said.

Rony Hawlader, 16, was an SSC examinee from Bolakoir Azaharia High School. He was killed when former union parishad member Azizul Sheikh opened fire during a clash between two families in Bangram area under Sadar upazila of Gopalganj on January 30, 2020.
