194 more infected with Covid-19 in Chattogram

194 new coronavirus patients have been detected in Chattogram in last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the port city to 6,288.

Besides, two more people died of the deadly virus over the same period, taking the total death toll to 141.

Of those newly infected, 128 were from Chattogram metropolitan area and the remaining 66 from different upazilas of Chattogram.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed the information on Sunday (June 21) morning.

194 more people have been found infected with coronavirus or Covid-19 after carrying out sample tests of 679 people at five PCR labs in Chattogram, the civil surgeon said.

As many as 640 patients have recovered so far in the port city, he said.
