2 Rohingya drug traders killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

Two Rohingya drug traders were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar early Monday.

Three BGB members were injured in this connection.

The ‘gunfight’ took place at Damdomia village in Hnila union of Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila.

The deceased were identified as Jamal, 27, son of late Harun-or-Rashid and Yunus, 21, son of Jafar Ahmed.

50,000 yaba pills, two locally made pistols and three round cartridges were recovered from the spot during the ‘gunfight’.

The three BGB members injured in the ‘gunfight’ were given primary treatment.

Lt Col Faisal Hasan Khan, captain of Teknaf BGB, confirmed the matter to risingbd.
