2 killed as truck hits easy-bike in Jashore

Two people were killed and another one injured after a truck hit an easy-bike on Jashore-Khulna highway in Peerbari area of Nowapara in Jashore on Saturday (June 20).

The deceased were known as Monirul Islam, 40, hailed from Savarpara village of Abhaynagar Upazila and Mizanur Rahman Biswas, 60, hailed from Phultala upazila in Khulna.

Witnesses and highway police said, Khulna-bound truck rammed the easy-bike in the area leaving the two passengers of the easy-bike dead on the spot.

Nowapara highway police station recovered the bodies and sent those to morgue for autopsy.

Nowapara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahmed Chowdhur confirmed the matter.
