2 killed in Laxmipur road accident

Two Swechasebok League men have died as a pickup van hit their motorcycle on Thursday midnight at Kamalnagar upazila in Laxmipur district.

The accident took place in Torabganj area of Ramgati-Laxmipur road.

The deceased were identified as Partha Kumar Das, 36, president of Hazirhat union unit of Swechasebok League and son of Dalim Das at Chorjangalia village of the upazila, and Ruponna Kumar Das, 30, a Swechasebok League member and son of Narayan Das.

According to locals, a pickup van hit their motorcycle around 12.15am, leaving Ruponna dead on the spot and Partha critically injured.

Partha was immediately taken to Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared him dead.
